Step 1:
Unscrew the plastic screws on either side of the latch mechanism and pull out the rings under each screw. Be gentle, plastic can be easily damaged. These should come out pretty easily.
Step 2:
Using a small flathead
screwdriver, gently pry the cover off the lift handle.
I suggest wrapping the tip of the screwdriver with some masking or electrical
tape to prevent scarring the plastic when prying.
Step 3:
Unscrew these two bolts and remove the lift handle.
Step 4:
The rest of the panel is held in by 10 plastic fasteners that pop out and two tabs. Run your fingers between the panel and body while firmly prying apart. It will take a bit of pressure but the fasteners should snap out.
Step 5:
Do not remove the entire panel yet! If possible I suggest having someone hold it in place while you complete the next two steps.
Step 6:
Unplug the wiring harness from the light by pressing down on the release tab and pulling out at the same time. It is not necessary to remove the actual light assembly from the body panel.
