How To Change Headlight & Foglight Bulbs
by Morph

If you don't like that yellowish
tint coming from your stock bulbs, then upgrading
to specialty bulbs or doing a full HID (High Intensity Discharge) conversion
is
the solution. Switching to specialty bulbs is easier, faster, and cheaper, plus
if
you use good bulbs, it will yield very good results. The HID conversion will
yield
the best results, but they cost several hundred dollars and are a little more
difficult
to install.
There are many brands of
bulbs available. I chose Hoen Titaniums for my low
beams because they were the only company I could find at the time that made
the
right size and had a good reputation. I originally chose Sylvania Silverstars
for the fogs
because they were readily available at autoparts stores. But after installing
them and
seeing them compared side-by-side with the Hoens, I ended up returning the Silverstars
and ordering the fog bulbs from Hoen.
I opted not to upgrade the hi-beams because I seldom use them, however it is
just as
easy to do the hi's as it is to do the low's. If you intend to change your High
beam bulbs
also, just follow the same instructions that are given here for the Low beam
bulbs.

Difficulty: Changing your bulbs is not difficult, but having someone
with small and
steady hands may make it easier. On a scale of one to five with five being difficult,
I
would rate this a one.
Cost:
$50 - $150 total depending on which bulbs you choose and how many you
are replacing. One decent pair of bulbs will cost approximately $20 - $50.
Project Time: 10
- 20 minutes
Items Required:
- New bulbs
- Owner's Manual
- Rubber Glove (optional)
- Denatured Alcohol (optional)
- Twisty Ties or String (optional)
- Flashlight (optional)

Before starting, reference
your owner's manual (page 214-215 for 2004). There is a
very good diagram that explains how to replace a bulb. It really is that simple.
In fact
once you've done the first bulb, you probably won't even need this guide anymore.
